nas4free NFS and media players OPPO

#1

Post by Barracuda »

Hi, firends.
I have a network 192.168.20.0/24. In this network I have DUNE and OPPO media players.
There are NAS QNAP and nas4free. NFS and SAMBA services. In a DUNE player settings I type a line of a way of NFS
and it works. The OPPO player carries out automatic search of services and looks for NFS QNAP and not looks NFS nas4free.
OPPO sees SAMBA and works.
Please, help to adjust NFS.
Thanks!

Hello,

Did you configure "network / hosts" and "access / users and groups"?

"Network / hosts" is not mandatory when you have the option "ALL: ALL : allow" activated (not labelled with #).

On my network 192.168.x.x I have the NFS share set on 192.168.0.0/24... Perhaps could this be the reason why your OPPO client does not see your NFS share.

Hello,

Just to be sure: your OPPO player should also be in the same network (192.168.20.xx) and the same subnet (default is 255.255.255.0).

When OPPO start, it scan network. When scan it finded nas4free SAMBA service and not finded nas4free NFS service.
And DUNE (not scanned - direct typed patch to resource) is worked NFS service.

PS.
Just note, Barracuda shows a great persistence and finally resolved his problem, see his explanation, Russian language
viewtopic.php?f=44&p=75289#p75214
shortly speaking, he believes, the problem is due to different /etc/exports file syntax
exports at QNAP and Synology
qnap
"/share/MD0_DATA/Multimedia" *(ro,async,no_subtree_check,insecure,no_root_squash)
synology
/volume1/Multimedia-04 *(ro,async,no_wdelay,crossmnt,insecure,no_root_squash,insecure_locks,sec=sys,anonuid=1025,anongid=100)

exports at nas4free
/mnt/RAID-Z1-POOL -ro,quiet -maproot=root -network 192.168.20.0 -mask 255.255.255.0
As dirty hack solution Barracuda stops boxed NFS server and used userspace nfs v3 one https://www.freshports.org/net/unfs3/
with own export file, alike of this
/mnt/RAID-Z1-POOL/MULTIMEDIA-05 192.168.20.0/24(rw,async,no_root_squash)
