[HowTo] Steps to perform after making changes to the physical storage

#1

Post by ms49434 »

After making changes to the physical storage configuration, perform the following steps:

Step 1
This step must be always performed:
- Go to Disks > Management > HDD Management. In the Import Disks section, select 'Clear configuration information before importing disks.' and click the 'Import' button in the same section.

Step 2
If you use ZFS, perform this step:
- Go to Disks > ZFS > Configuration > Synchronize, check all 3 options, click on button 'Synchronize'.

Step 3
If you use Soft RAID, perform this step:
- Go to Disks > Management > HDD Management. In the Import Software RAID Disks section, select 'Clear configuration information before importing software RAID disks..' and click the 'Import' button in the same section.

The above steps will read the existing configuration of the storage devices. No data will be destroyed.

Hi,

After these steps of synchronization, you need also to go in System > Advanced > Monitoring Setup.

Then you click on 'save and restart'

It will allow to take into account the modification (if not you will see old pool, disks,...).
